About the job

Join our team as an Outfitting Engineer and use your skills to design essential features that make yachts both functional and fantastic. Working as Engineer Outfitting & Plans together with your fellow engineers you are responsible for designing the solutions for doors, hatches, ladders, manholes, shutters, railing and sun protection of the superyacht. The process is not only about the design itself but also the use of materials, the various applicable production techniques, assembly, use, costs, manufacturability and much more, before the solution can be taken into production. As Engineer Outfitting & Plans you are supposed to take all this factors under consideration to ensure a coordinated, integrated, high-quality final design.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsebilities include:

  • Design Development: Create and refine designs for superyacht outfitting components.
  • Material and Production Selection: Choose suitable materials and production methods to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with various teams to integrate designs smoothly.
  • Quality and Compliance: Maintain high standards and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Innovation and Documentation: Innovate and document design processes and solutions.

About you

Education
To excel in this role a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture (or similar) is required.

Experience
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following professional experiences and achievements:

  • Several years of experience with different parts of the construction process in ship / yacht building
  • Knowledge of production techniques and experience with manufacturability of parts to be engineered
  • Knowledge of high-quality materials and finishing levels
  • Very good command of English language
  • Fluency within the CAD drawing environment; affinity with Solid Edge, NX and Team Centre
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations such as Lloyd's, Solas and Large Yacht Code (as extra)

Our client is a renowned Dutch shipyard with a prestigious history in yacht building. The yard is one of the founding members of Feadship, which is a cooperative venture between several Dutch shipyards dedicated to building luxury superyachts. Our client has been responsible for constructing some of the world's most iconic and luxurious yachts, known for their exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and innovative design. Our client collaborates closely with other Feadship yards to deliver bespoke yachts that meet the exacting standards and preferences of their discerning clientele.
