About the job

The Senior Naval Architect will play a crucial role in driving the design and engineering processes within the company. This position requires close collaboration with various departments such as Research & Development, Design & Proposal, Supply Chain, Services, and Production.
The main goal is to ensure that all shipbuilding constructions and systems not only meet the industry standards and regulations but also fit seamlessly into the overall design to support the operational excellence and technological advancement of our workboats.


  • Working on the shipbuilding design and engineering aspects of our projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitoring work progress in engineering and making adjustments as necessary to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Supporting in the client, class, and national authorities approval process.
  • Focusing on the structural design and integration of steel hull and outfitting.
  • Coordinating work with the Engineering Project Manager.
  • Ensuring appropriate quality of engineering work within one or more projects at a technical level.

About you

Bachelor Master Degree in Naval Architect

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following professional experiences and achievements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in shipbuilding design and engineering in the maritime sector.
  • Strong knowledge of shipbuilding construction and systems used in the vessels;
  • Creating technical design and solution, based on functional and/or stakeholder requirem+ents;
  • Organizational and project management skills (aimed at Engineering);
  • Experience with marine industry standards and regulations;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in Shipbuilding Engineering or related fields.

We support a prominent Dutch shipbuilding company with expanding their workboats division. Our client focuses on the construction of versatile workboats for various commercial and industrial purposes. These workboats are designed to support a wide range of tasks, such as transportation of personnel and cargo, dredging, towing, firefighting, and offshore operations.
